Little Leapers: More Valuable Than a College Education
As parents and teachers, it is essential to remember, there is no better age to form positive learning attitudes than the preschool years. Unfortunately, as many parents find out the hard way, you simply can't turn back the clock and teach learning attitudes to a teenager. We believe strongly, the learning attitudes your child acquires during their preschool years in Tumble Bees have more bearing on their success than will their college education.
Keep First Things First When Raising Kids
Child development experts know: for preschoolers, acquiring healthy learning skill is far more important than mastery of specific skills such as cartwheels. In Tumble Bees, gymnastics skills are used as tools to instill learning attitudes while skill mastery is a secondary goal. In Tumble Bees, we keep first things first.....kids!
A Critical Tumble Bee exclusive: EIGHT age groupings
We divide our Tumble Bee Program into eight separate age groups. At these tender ages, we believe small age divisions are necessary in order to create just the right learning environment for each stage of a child's development. Few organizations go to such lengths, but we have seen the benefits it offers our Tumble Bees.
All Tumble Bee classes are 45 minutes long.
Parent Participation Classes: 6 months thru 2 years
Our curriculum for the 6 months to 2 year olds is based on the Baby Bee's ABC's: Attach, Bond and Connect. Research shows that early parent /child interaction greatly contributes to the healthy social, cognitive and physical development of your child. The Baby Bees program is strategically designed to provide an outlet for productive play with your child.
About 6 Months - Pre-walking
Baby Bees are learning how to manipulate their body, recognize their surroundings and how to play with objects. This 30 minute class creates special parent/child bonding time through physical play and social interaction with other babies and mommies.
No Parent Participation
Watch out, the Pre-K kids are ready to learn! Our Pre-K class is designed for 4 1/2 to 5 year olds who follow directions and are ready for a faster paced class. At this age, your child has gained listening skills which allow for more opportunities to learn. Forward and backward rolling, cartwheels, and handstands begin to take shape. By creatively incorporating more skill development into our lesson plans, your child will get hooked on learning!
What should my child wear?
Most girls wear a leotard. A t-shirt and active wear pants or shorts are OK for boys and girls. We prefer bare feet in order to make climbing easier. For general safety purposes please be sure that long hair is pulled back, and no jewelry. Food, drinks and gum are not allowed in the gymnastics area.
